Masai Mara - 4 nights
Flight - 1 night
The Governors’ Camp Collection of seven award winning safari camps and lodges lie at the heart of some of the best wildlife viewing areas. Therefore it comes as no surprise that landmark TV series such as BBC Earth’s ‘Dynasties’ and Animal Planet’s ‘Big Cat Tales’ were filmed right at Governors’ Camp doorstep.
For nearly 50 years Governors’ has been pioneering safaris, setting the standard for the classic African safari experience. Governors’ Camp, the first permanent tented camp in the Masai Mara occupies the best year round wildlife viewing area in the National Park. The location was considered so good that it was reserved for the colonial Governors of Kenya, hence the name Governors’ Camp. It nestles in the forest along the winding banks of the Mara River, it’s waters teeming with bird-life, hippo and crocodile.
Kenya reveals a massive concentration of large mammals, home to thousands of animals, best viewed on Masai Mara game drives. Along with the incredible array of game animals is a virtually unrivalled variety of birdlife.
The savannah grasslands of East Africa offer the world’s most famous wildlife spectacle, as part of the greater Serengeti ecosystem when around 1.5 million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle arrive at the Mara between July and September. This great migration is awaited eagerly by the many predators lying in wait.
Discover the ancestral land of the Masai tribes, the habitats of abundant wildlife, the home of endangered black rhinos, ‘the Mara’ as a Big Five reserve and a Big Cat haunt. Africa is the last great wilderness of our generation and Kenya is the perfect place to answer Africa’s call of the wild.
