Rivers of the New World

Voyage on the Columbia and Snake Rivers in the footsteps of the pioneers through magnificent scenery to historic towns and fascinating museums

Nowhere is the timelessness of rivers more apparent than in the pristine Pacific Northwest, a captivating corner of America with an abundance of awe-inspiring, natural beauty. Embrace your inner pioneer on the epic route forged by intrepid explorers Lewis and Clark than 200 years ago.

Cruise on the Columbia and Snake Rivers past fertile fields, impressive mountains and vertical canyons as you take in the majestic scenery. Columbia Gorge cuts through the Cascade Mountains thanks to the Missoula Floods of the last Ice Age. Multnomah Falls are snowmelt streams which plunge over 600 feet in two tiered cascades down a sheer cliff face. Deeper than the Grand Canyon, Idaho’s Hell’s Canyon is a dramatic crack in the earth with raging waters. Near Portland you will understand the raw power of nature in the collapsed volcanic crater of Mount St. Helens. The soaring mountains and dramatic landscapes remain majestic, unspoiled and glorious with an abundant wildlife and fascinating frontier spirit.

Lectures on board by a Riverlorian and guest speakers will enhance your knowledge and enjoyment.
