Magnificent Dijon, famous for its mustard and architectural grandeur was the capital of the Dukes of Burgundy who built one of the most powerful states in Europe in the 13th century. The city is a great display of gothic, medieval and renaissance with its many ancient houses, ‘bourgeois’ homes and parliamentary buildings.

Day 1 Eurostar from London to Paris and by road to Port-sur- Saône, calling at Auxerre for a walk around the old town. Embark your vessel for a six-night cruise. Welcome cocktail before dinner. (D)
Day 2 Morning cruise towards Ray-sur-Saône enjoying hillside scenery and rolling meadows. Afternoon visit of the medieval and Renaissance Chateau at Champlitte, listed historical monument since 1909, and the Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions, created by a local shepherd. (B, L, D)
Day 3 Morning cruise towards Gray. Afternoon guided visit of this spectacular town rich in historic heritage with wonderful treasures. Enjoy a tasting of local specialities. (B, L, D)
Day 4 Relax on the sundeck admiring the beautiful scenery, cruising to Auxonne, arriving late afternoon. Maybe enjoy a bicycle ride along the banks. (B, L, D)
Day 5 Morning cruise through the magnificent lush and green landscapes towards Longecourt-en-Plaine. Afternoon excursion along the Grands Crus Wine Route passing through villages and the finest and most prestigious of the Burgundy vineyards. Enjoy a wine tasting. (B, L, D)
Day 6 Morning cruise towards Dijon. Afternoon guided tour of this fabulous city discovering the former capital of the Valois Dukes of Burgundy and its wonderfully rich heritage. Celebrate the cruise with a gala dinner. (B, L, D)
Day 7 Disembark and travel to Troyes for a walk around this historic town of the Champagne region, known for its churches and stained glass. Continue to Paris for the Eurostar to London. (B)
