Explore Corsica

Nestled between France and Italy, Corsica is a diverse island that's full of surprises. Known as the 'Isle of Beauty', Corsica is only 180km long and 80km wide, but the dramatic scenery is mesmerising. The landscape changes from glittering bays, vibrant coastal cities and fabulous beaches to striking mountain ridges, lush valleys, dense forests and quaint hilltop villages.

Though Corsica has been part of France for more than 200 years, it feels different from the mainland, with its Genoese fortresses and Baroque churches, as well as its distinct language and cuisine that feels more Italian than French.

Time feels like it is has stood still when visiting Corsica’s hilltop towns. With many clinging to mountains above the sea, they give a glimpse of the old days in Corsica and offer spectacular viewpoints. Perched high on the cliffs is the old town of Bonifacio, where on a clear day you can see as far as Sardinia from the hilltop.

For those seeking something a little livelier, Corsica’s capital Ajaccio is a bustling town and is famous for being the birthplace of Napoleon. From the house that Napoleon was born in, to the beautiful architectural themes present throughout the city, Ajaccio is a fascinating location.
