As travel restrictions are being relaxed around the world, we’re working hard to resume our range of tours and river cruises, and to welcome travellers back for fabulous journeys of discovery. Of course, it’s a rather different world to navigate just now, with extra measures to put in place for the well-being of our customers and our team, but we are determined to deliver the comfort and quality you are used to, across our variety of awe-inspiring journeys, in tandem with all the advised safety procedures for your protection and peace of mind.
Plan your holiday with confidence
As things stand at the moment, all tours due to depart up to (and including) 31st August 2020 have been cancelled. We are contacting all customers booked on these tours, so, if you haven’t heard from us yet, we will be in touch to talk through your options.
Currently no changes have been made to tours departing from September onward, as we expect many of these to operate as planned. However, if you would like to change your date of travel to later this year or to 2021 you may do so.
Whenever you plan to travel, please be assured that we are closely monitoring guidelines from both our own UK government and those of the countries our tours will visit, and, when rules are relaxed or adjusted, we will quickly respond to changes in official travel advice. For the latest information from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) please visit: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/travel-advice-novel-coronavirus
Flexible booking policy
With travel guidelines constantly in flux, we understand that travellers may be hesitant to commit to a holiday many months in advance, so we are introducing a Flexible Booking Policy for all reservations for tours departing more than two months ahead. Whether you are making a new booking or re-booking a tour, you may alter your plans later, free of charge, as long as the original tour departure date is outside the 61-day ‘balance due’ period. So, if your own circumstances change or you feel unsure about your chosen destination, you can switch to a new date and/or destination, either later this year or in 2021. Of course, if a tour is cancelled or rescheduled on Foreign & Commonwealth Office advice at any time up to the departure date, we will respond to new guidelines and there will be no charge for transferring to other options.
Safety-nets for your assurance
With over 40 years’ experience in Small Group Escorted Tours, when you travel with Jules Verne you’re in safe hands. Our holidays are ABTA and ATOL protected; our Price Guarantee means you will not be affected by any price increases after you have booked; and, as part of a large international group, DER Touristik, we’re well-equipped to deal with challenges that come our way, calling on the decades of experience of our own teams and those of our parent company, REWE.
We know that many travellers have been concerned about holiday insurance as the circumstances of Coronavirus caught companies on the back foot, and we are pleased to note that several insurance providers have now extended their cover, Campbell Irvine being one with a particularly good policy covering Covid-19. More information can be found here.
Teamwork with trusted partners
A memorable and successful tour requires the teamwork of many and varied partners, and we are proud to be working with some of the best airlines, ground agents, hotels, transportation companies and cruise operators around the world. They mirror our ethos of customer care and support us in producing the vastly varied range of tours in our portfolio. We look forward to supporting them all when the world opens-up for business again.
Your well-being is our priority
From start to finish of your tour, we and our overseas partners will be following advice and implementing local regulations to provide a safe environment. Contractually confirmed to meet our requirements, hoteliers and cruise operators will be scrupulous in cleaning and sanitising guest rooms and public areas; coaches and excursion vehicles will be regularly disinfected; and, wherever possible, hand sanitiser will be provided and social distancing enabled. Our tour managers and guides will give you advice on adhering to local safety measures, which could vary across the tour and may include wearing face coverings indoors or out. Please understand that you too must comply with local rules and “when in Rome, do as the Romans do”. For your convenience and peace of mind, we recommend that you bring your own supply of hand sanitiser and face masks. Before and throughout the tour, we will respond to local conditions and may do things a little differently from pre-Covid journeys, perhaps restricting seat rotation or re-routing an itinerary. Your well-being will always be paramount in any decisions and alterations we may have to make, and we will be doing all we can so that your holiday runs smoothly, safely and worry-free.
