Days 1 & 2 Fly London Heathrow to Sydney via Dubai.
Day 3 Early morning arrival in vibrant, cosmopolitan Sydney. Transfer to the Four Seasons Hotel for a three-night stay. Early check-in has been arranged. Breakfast is available until 10:00 am. Time to rest. This afternoon meet your Tour Guide for a walking tour of The Rocks followed by a guided Sydney Opera House tour. Enjoy a sharing Tasting Plate in an Alfresco dining ambience. Return to the hotel on foot. The evening is at Leisure. (B)
Day 4 Exploration to the secluded Sydney Waterways on a private boat cruise with skipper & private steward (subject to weather conditions). These waterways have been travelled for centuries, including by Captain James Cook who encountered them during his exploration in 1770. Beach Picnic included. Return to the hotel early afternoon. Remainder of the day is at leisure for independent exploration. (B, L)
Day 5 Early morning pick-up from the hotel for a full-day tour to the stunning Blue Mountains, home to some of the most spectacular alpine scenery in Australia. En-route visit Featherdale Wildlife Park where you can pat a Koala, hand feed a Kangaroo and admire the enormous Saltwater Crocodiles. Includes morning tea/coffee and lunch featuring local cuisine and wines. Evening at leisure. (B, L)
Day 6 Fly Sydney to Darwin, steeped in ancient Aboriginal culture it is Australia’s northernmost city and only tropical capital. On arrival transfer to the Darwin Hilton Hotel for an overnight stay. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore independently. (B)
Day 7 Depart Darwin for a brief sightseeing tour before continuing to Katherine, where the Outback meets the tropics. Discover a region of gorges, thermal springs and ancient cultures. En-route visit Litchfield National Park filled with stunning waterfalls and waterholes surrounded by monsoonal vine forests. Lunch is taken en route. Arrive at Cicada Lodge for a two-night stay. Welcome drink on arrival. Later enjoy sunset drinks and canapés. Dinner at the hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 8 Enjoy a journey of discovery through the magnificent Nitmiluk Gorge,12km of sheer rock extending more than 70m high. Consisting of 13 separate gorges, Nitmiluk Gorge is a maze of waterways sculpted from the sandstone over countless millennia by the Katherine River. On the Nit Nit Dreaming cruise you will discover the cultural significance of the first two gorges to the traditional landowners - the Jawoyn people. See some of Australia’s oldest Aboriginal art where paintings in all styles appear on sandstone walls throughout the gorge system believed to date back 40,000 years (closed non-slip shoes recommended). Day 9 Depart Katherine for the return journey back to Darwin. En-route visit Kakadu Australia’s largest National Park, where you will find ancient landscapes with thundering waterfalls, lush rainforests, wandering wetlands, exotic wildlife and ancient rock art. Lunch en route. Arrive in Darwin early evening. Overnight stay at the Darwin Hilton. (B, L)
Day 10 Early morning flight to Alice Springs, the beating heart of Australia’s Red Centre immersed in Aboriginal Culture. On arrival enjoy tea/coffee and pastries before a brief sightseeing tour including a panoramic view of the township of Alice Springs and the MacDonnell Ranges from the top of Anzac Hill before transferring to Kings Canyon with lunch en route. Overnight at the Kings Canyon Resort, an oasis in the heart of Australia’s Northern Territory. Dinner at the hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 11 Depart the hotel for Kathleen Springs Walk. The trail leads to a spring-fed waterhole at the head of Kathleen Gorge. Continue to Ayers Rock Resort with lunch en route. On arrival Longitude 131 staff will be waiting to take you to your accommodation for a two night stay. Appreciate the Uluru sunset with champagne and canapés and experience the spectacular Field of Light. A place of tangible spiritual energy, filled with myths, stories and legends of the indigenous people who made this land their home, Uluru truly is the heart of Australia. As darkness falls and Uluru is thrown into silhouette, the Field of Light illuminates. As far as the eye can see gentle rhythms of colour light up the desert. Enjoy an evening among the dunes with four delicious courses complemented with the finest Australian wines, whilst the Longitude’s resident astronomer regales the gathering with tales of the Southerly constellations. Day 12 Morning activities to Walpa Gorge & Kata Tjuta, explore the formation of Kata Tjuta and visit the Cultural Centre where informative and interactive displays provide insight into the spiritual and cultural meanings of Uluru and Kata Tjuta. After lunch join the lodge guide for a gentle walk along the portion of Uluru’s base and learn about the history of the Mala people. At dusk, visit the breathtaking natural structure of Kantju Gorge to witness the rock walls ablaze with the light of the setting sun. Dinner is taken in the intimate ambience of Dune House. (B, L, D)
Day 13 Early morning start to join the Mutitjulu Meander where you will discover the Mutitjulu Waterhole and the sacred site of Kuniya Piti as the sun lights up the ancient monolith. Return to Longitude 131 for breakfast then transfer to the airport for your flight to Cairns and onward transfer to Mossman for your three-night stay at the Silky Oaks Lodge Daintree. Nestled in Kuku Yalangi country, the eco lodge sits high above the crystal-clear waters of the Mossman River and is enveloped by the lush Daintree Rainforest. Day 14 This morning you will be collected for your Great barrier Reef cruise excursion with lunch. Entering the dramatic beauty of the Great Barrier Reef, a UNESCO world heritage site and one of the 7 natural wonders in the world is the most incredible experience. A kaleidoscope mosaic of coral, hyperactive marine life and castaway atolls. Seeing nature at its most perfect is an awakening and, quite simply, the memory of a lifetime. Day 15 Today is at leisure. The lodge offers complimentary and optional activities such as, a guided walk, morning yoga class, exclusive access to the Fig Tree Rapids walking trail, river swimming and snorkelling, use of mountain bikes and river kayaks.
