A Journey through Rural Rajasthan

Experience both rural and regal Rajasthan on this eye-opening tour, taking roads less travelled for wildlife safaris and a starlight desert dinner, and visiting cities from Agra to Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Udaipur, via historic villages and half-forgotten forts

A deliciously diverse tour for first-time visitors to India, and tempting returning travellers with off-the-beaten-track discoveries, this full fortnight covers every facet of Rajasthan. From fortresses and fabled temples to luxuriant landscapes and desert dunes, and from regal, romantic, remarkable cities to rural, rarely visited villages; the route creates an authentic experience of the region’s culture, customs, and untamed nature. It begins among the mosques, museums, and Mughal tombs of Delhi, before travelling to India’s most iconic monument, Agra’s Taj Mahal. A river safari in the Chambal Sanctuary is a wild interlude enroute to the Pink City palaces of Jaipur. In the Thar Desert, Manvar celebrates the silence and solitude of the sands; and Bikaner has two strings to its bow, culture in its city buildings, and country in its camel breeding. We see the Blue City of Jodhpur, take a step back in time at Bishnoi Village, and stay in beguiling Nalai, where 700 steps climb Elephant Rock to stunning views. Wildlife watching in Kumbhalgarh is followed by the wonderful Ranakpur Temples; and we revel in ‘The Romance of Rajasthan’, Udaipur, its palaces reflected in the waters of Lake Pichola.
