Panama to Costa Rica
A journey along the legendary Pan-American Highway through Panama, northwards to Costa Rica, including the Panama Canal and Manuel Antonio National Park
At the heart of the Americas, Panama is the crucial link between the Atlantic and the Pacific, though it would be wrong to define Panama purely on the basis of the Panama Canal.
While clearly the focal point of the country that marries the two great oceans, what lies just beyond these locks is a revelation. Pristine beaches, lush rainforest and big city nightlife await visitors to give a taste of the country’s outstanding assets. Nearly one-third of Panama’s land area is dedicated to national parks, wildlife refuges and forest reserves, with miles of protected coral reefs. Panama is emerging as an exciting tourist destination in its own right and a gentle stepping stone into Central America.
