Colombia is one of the most bio-diverse countries in the world. The natural regions of the country are home to practically every type of ecosystem on earth, from tropical rainforest and Andean cloud forest to open savannahs and high-altitude moorland.
There is something special about the allure of visiting the Amazon. The lesser known town of Leticia lies along the Amazon river where the borders of Colombia, Brazil and Peru meet. It offers more of an authentic experience than the better known destinations in Brazil and the nearby lakes are a protected wildlife sanctuary. There are opportunities to spot jaguars, the grey and pink river dolphins and the giant water lilies.
The Colombian Pacific coast boasts undiscovered jungles, pristine beaches and exotic fauna and flora. The kind hospitality and rich cultural background hark back to simpler times. The area offers many attractions such as bird-watching and hikes along indescribably beautiful trails as well as the humpback whales arriving in July from the south in search of warmer waters and along with them migratory birds and the golfito marine turtles.
