TREASURES OF TUSCANY

Tuscan landscapes, hill towns and city states; a detailed exploration of the artistic and historic heritage of Florence,
Siena, Lucca and Pisa

Tuscany conjures up the picture postcard images of Italy - rolling hills, straight dark cypress trees, medieval villages of mellow gold and the world famous art centres of Florence, Siena, Lucca and Pisa. The rulers of Tuscany during the important times of the Renaissance, which so profoundly influenced our own culture and civilisation, left behind them great masterpieces of art and architecture.

Florence is perhaps the best-known and best-loved city in Italy, clustered along the banks of the Arno and studded with historic buildings containing magnificent art treasures (priority entrance is included for all the mentioned visits plus many more, as well as free use of public transport).

Siena is the medieval home of banking and Saint Catherine, but perhaps best known for the Palio horse race in Piazza del Camp contested by the 17 Contrade (districts), each named after an animal or symbol with its own history and heraldry.

The leaning tower is just one of the impressive buildings of Pisa's 'Field of Miracles', whilst Siena encloses a world of the Middle Ages within its ancient walls.

Central hotels afford the opportunity to sample Tuscany’s famed cuisine and wines.
