Secret Tuscany

Explore the true diversity and tastes of Tuscany on a detailed discovery of hill towns, art cities, beautiful landscapes
and the Isle of Elba

Whilst our ‘Treasures of Tuscany’ tour is designed more for the first-time visitor including the highlights of Florence, Siena, Lucca and Pisa, this equally rewarding itinerary reveals Tuscany’s lesser known and quieter treasures and landscapes.

Discover the hilltop towns of Vinci, Cortona and Montepulciano with a tasting of its fine wines. Explore Vinci, the birthplace of Leonardo, the Etruscan capital of Fiesole, religious heritage of Arezzo and the Pope’s palace in Pienza.

Exiled on Elba in 1814 and given sovereignty, Napoleon designed the Elban flag drawing inspiration from the Medici banner (Cosimo Medici built the fortifications) but stayed less than a year before beginning a journey which ended in defeat at Waterloo – possibly he lived to regret leaving his island kingdom in the Tyrrhenian Sea for his remote island prison of St. Helena in the Atlantic.
