Special departures to mark the 30th anniversary of the dramatic events that so changed Europe, focussing on Berlin's post-war history and the treasures of Dresden, capital of Saxony, and now fully re-built
Berlin - 3 nights
Dresden - 3 nights
Arguably the most important moment in 20th century European history since the 2nd World War was when Eastern European countries broke free from communism and Soviet control in 1989/90 and the Berlin Wall fell. Berlin, has been most profoundly shaped by the 20th century, becoming the front line in the Cold War.
The capital of Saxony, Dresden, is now fully restored in all its splendour and is one of Germany’s most beautiful cities, lies on the banks of the Elbe.
Our departures coincide with the Day of German Unity (Oct 3), the 30th anniversary of the Fall of the wall (Nov 9) and the Berlin Christmas Markets (End Nov – Dec 31).
