Special winter offer to explore charming Copenhagen, Northern Europe’s cosiest capital, during the quieter time whilst staying at a central hotel – included tour and Copenhagen Card to facilitate the exploration
Copenhagen - 3 nights
Interest in Scandinavia has increased in recent years not least under the influence of the Nordic noir TV dramas. Christiansborg castle, known locally as ‘The Castlè (Borgen) a granite-faced neo Baroque building topped by an enormous spire, houses the Danish Parliament and the Royal Reception Rooms.
Copenhagen is one of the most colourful and friendliest of cities combining Scandinavian elegance with European joie de vivre and excellent food. Surrounded by water and symbolised by the bronze figure of Hans Christian Andersen’s Little Mermaid in the harbour, Copenhagen has an endless network of streets, squares and canals. Stroll along one of the longest pedestrianised streets in Europe (Strøget) and explore the Nyhavn Harbour area with its colourful gabled houses. Rosenborg Slot which looks like a setting for a Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy-tale is a red-brick palace built as a summer residence, whilst Amalienborg is the home of the Danish royal family since 1794, consisting of four almost identical palaces. The Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek has a superb Egyptian, Greek and French impressionists collection. Your included Copenhagen Card allows the exploration of the city and its surroundings, with free admission to 87 museums and attractions and free public transport.
