The Adriatic Coast, with its dramatic cliffs and azure waters, has inspired poets from Byron to Virgil and Shaw to Ezra Pound. We invite you to take a delightful seven-night cruise aboard the elegant and exclusive Motor Vessel Admiral to discover historic towns that were once centres of the GrecoRoman, Byzantine and Renaissance worlds. We start our cruise in the great city of Split, with an abundance of Roman architecture and the monumental palace of the Roman emperor Diocletian at its heart, possibly one of the greatest remaining Roman structures. Stops are made at Brač, famous for stone masonry, historic Korčula, reputedly the birthplace of legendary explorer Marco Polo, the forested idyll of Mljet, the lavender-scented island of Hvar and the rural Pelješac Peninsula.
The cruise would not be complete without time to discover the extraordinary medieval walled city of Dubrovnik, acclaimed by George Bernard Shaw as ‘paradise on earth’ and Byron as the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic.’ For the more energetic there is free time in Hvar to hike up to the town fort overlooking the harbour for lovely views of the Pakleni islands and in Dubrovnik, for those with the enthusiasm and the stamina, an opportunity to walk the famous 1,940m long walls and take a stroll along the walking street “Stradun.”
