Enjoying global cuisine at home is a great way to learn about and appreciate the world, with all of its diverse ingredients and exciting flavours.  We have picked some of our favourite traditional dishes found across 10 different countries to help not only inspire your dinner choice but also where to head next on a group tour!

  1. Egypt - Falafel

Falafel is a deep-fried ball, or a flat or doughnut-shaped patty, made from ground chickpeas, fava beans, or both. Herbs, spices, and onion are often added into the dough to provide extra flavour.

Ceviche is a seafood dish that originated in Peru, typically made from fresh raw fish cured in citrus juices, such as lemon or lime, and spiced with ají, chili peppers or other seasonings including chopped onions, salt, and coriander.

Ramen translates to "pulled noodles". It consists of wheat noodles served in a meat or fish-based broth, often flavoured with soy sauce or miso, and uses toppings such as sliced pork, nori, menma, and scallions.

Cambodian Amok is a fragrant curry that uses lemongrass, turmeric, garlic, chilli, ginger and shallot to create a flavoursome curry paste. In Cambodia, this curry is known as 'Amok' and is traditionally made with white fish.

This is a stew-like dish is prepared with tomatoes, onions, garlic and green peppers, along with a variety of optional ingredients such as potatoes, courgettes or chorizo. Eggs are often added during the cooking process so that they slowly poach in the liquid.

Gallo Pinto means “Spotted Rooster” in Spanish. This dish was given this name due to the speckled appearance of the dark beans against the white rice.
