The Maldives, a tropical nation composed of 26 ring-shaped atolls and more than 1,000 coral islands, is draped pearl-like across the Indian Ocean. Known for its crystal white sands, sheltered blue lagoons and marvellous coral reefs teeming with marine life, it redefines paradise. Each island is a coral encrusted peak from a range of submerged volcanoes, stretching from just off the Indian sub-continent to south of the equator.
Combining the warm waters of the Indian Ocean and the traditional tranquility of local island life, the best way to experience the beauty of the atolls is to island hop by small ship, truly the ideal way to absorb the Maldivian essence.
A comfortable yacht is the best way to explore the world’s most beautiful archipelago, a slowly disappearing paradise of white palm-fringed beaches and turquoise seas. Swim with mantas, eagle rays and reef sharks. Experience the thrill of night snorkelling and fishing.
The islands have an excellent reputation for superb snorkelling and world-class dive sites. For the more adventurous there is the chance to explore the underwater world with a series of dives or individual dives. This magical Maldivian realm is the ultimate destination for total relaxation, a place where you can expect to lose all sense of time, kick off your shoes, lay back and relax. Truly ‘barefoot’ living at its most delightful.
