From Jerusalem to Petra

A journey through the Holy Land from Israel to Jordan, combining religious history, cultural heritage and natural beauty

The Middle East is a region rich in history and the physical and cultural landscapes of Israel and Jordan bear witness to this. Over millennia empires and armies have swept through, laying claim to the cities and land and leaving a legacy of palaces, harbours, forts and temples of worship.

Israel is an evocative country, a land of ancient miracles and volatile politics, where past and present are linked. The country is of great importance to three major world faiths – Christianity, Islam and Judaism; the heritage of this is evident in the eclectic mix of people and cultures in the country.

Jordan unearths fascinating cultural and religious heritage and diverse natural wonders. Visit ancient, biblical and historic sites including the holy sites of Mount Nebo, where Moses viewed the ‘Promised Land’, Madaba for its ancient Holy Land mosaic map and Roman Jerash.

Jordan’s natural beauty is all around, from the red dusty desert scenes of Wadi Rum to the indigo waters and marine splendours of the Red Sea and the unique waters of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth.
