Day 1 Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Lusaka via Addis Ababa.

Day 2 Fly to Mfuwe and drive through colourful local scenes of villages life and agricultural fields to South Luangwa National Park for two nights at the Nkwali Camp. Before the first safari outing in the afternoon Edward will offer an informal group discussion about the coming week, as well as tailored personal advice to each guest about their camera kit. This will be just the start as Edward will lead the safari and accompany you on all game drives to ensure that you get real-time advice and assistance at each sighting.  Edward is accompanying this tour to make sure you make the most of the sightings that come your way and go home with photos that you are proud of! After each outing into the National Park, and particularly in the lunchtime break, Edward will be available to meet with guests and chat about the trip, cameras, sighting, or anything that you would like to discuss. It’s a great chance to go over any technical questions you may have about your equipment as well as go through an image review as well as a chance for Edward to look at some of your previous images and discuss a few composition techniques. He will also talk about using Adobe Lightroom to edit your photos in informal individual or group sessions. (D)

Day 3 Morning and afternoon game drives accompanied by Edward, covering everything from technical aspects of your camera to photo composition will help you make the most of having a wildlife and photography guide with you on safari. After lunch at the camp, you will have time for a swim, to rest or to start to edit through your photos and relive the memories that are still fresh in your mind. (B, L, D)

Day 4 Morning game drive through the park and boat transfer to Nsefu Camp exploring flooded lagoons and visiting the heronry on your way upriver. There is much to see and there will often be animals feeding on the riverbank as you float by. The light in the Emerald Season is much richer than in the drier months and gentle rays falling through ebony groves makes for some stunning photographs. While you are at Nsefu you will explore the park on foot and by boat and a visit to the huge yellow-billed stork colony is an excellent adventure. Three nights at Nsefu Camp.  (B, L, D)

Day 5 A choice between walking and boating for the morning and afternoon activities. Out in the bush Edward will be working with your guide to ensure that you have the best position each time you want to take a photograph and once in position there is ample time to explore a wide range of camera techniques and image styles; close up portraits, wide-angle scenic shots, freeze frame and slow shutter speed (panning) images, back and front lighting, silhouettes, and many more. Throughout your safari, Edward will slowly introduce new techniques and call out settings to help you take advantage of the ‘golden hour’ so reminiscent of African safaris. (B, L, D)

Day 6 Last full-day in the Nsefu sector. You'll maximise your time in the park finding many subjects to photograph, sometimes the large iconic species are tougher to track down so you’ll spend time exploring the grassland for brightly-coloured insects that make for unexpected additions to your safari portfolio. (B, L, D)

Day 7 Boat transfer back for two nights at Nkwali Camp. Morning and afternoon game drives with Edward. By this stage, you will have mastered several professional skills and refined your techniques too which will set you up for creating your unique photos and maximising any future trips that you take. (B, L, D)

Day 8 Morning and afternoon game drives with Edward. As always, Edward will have you out in the park in time for the fantastic dawn light for your photography. The last evening will be shared around the campfire and there will be a chance to show off your favourite images from the trip, if you wish to though, as with everything on Edward’s tours, it is tailored around the guests’ preferences. (B, L, D)

Day 9 Transfer to Lusaka for your return overnight flight via Addis Ababa. (B, L)
