The Timeless Nile by Royal Steamer

This exceptional cruise is an exclusive Jules Verne charter of the regal steamer SS Misr, the former floating palace of King Farouk. Sailing in style from enchanting Aswan to amazing sites in Luxor and beyond, it includes the stunning temples of Abu Simbel

A leisurely week of Egyptian exploration sees you cruising downstream in the cosseted calm of ‘the most luxurious steamship on the Nile’, the SS Misr, known for impeccable service and excellent cuisine . Built in Britain in 1918, transformed twenty years later into a lavish vessel for Egypt’s last monarch, and now restored in all her former royal glory, this icon of the river combines the elegance of a golden age with contemporary comforts, from its fine restaurant to its sundeck, plunge pool, and balconied cabins. The tour is accompanied by an Egyptologist and expert local guides, and divides visitors into smaller groups for optimum enjoyment of each of the landmark sites. These range from famous to almost forgotten places. In the former are Aswan’s High Dam, the temples of Edfu, Kom Ombo, and Abu Simbel, legends of Cleopatra in Denderah, and the ‘living museum’ and ancient mausoleums of Luxor’s Karnak Temple and Valley of the Kings. The little-known is Gharb Soheil, a time-warp village and unique immersion into Nubian culture; and an unforgettable optional tour takes you into the sky above Luxor in a hot-air balloon.
