Travel with a sense of occassion

Worldwide touring from Europe to The Americas (and all points in between!) with Voyages Jules Verne

Celebrating 30 years of pioneering worldwide tours this year, Voyages Jules Verne continues to offer an array of innovative journeys by road, rail, air, river and sea.

On 27 February 1979, to the sound of a Highland Pipe Band, the first-ever Voyages Jules Verne travellers embarked on a China tour from London’s Victoria station on The Central Kingdom Express. Setting the standard for what was to come over the next 30 years, this 42-day, 7,000 mile expedition by rail to Hong Kong was the first in a long line of exciting itineraries from the specialist tour operator.

Now offering more than a hundred tours to over fifty countries across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, India, the Far East and The Americas, Voyages Jules Verne spans the globe with its ever-expanding programme of unforgettable journeys. Each imaginatively crafted to capture the true essence of a destination and expertly guided by local specialists, choose from European weekend breaks and classic river cruises, remarkable rail journeys, wildlife-watching trips and grand tours of exotic, far-flung destinations – many with no single supplement for single travellers on selected departure dates.

Still a popular centrepiece of Voyages Jules Verne’s World of Wonders programme, The Central Kingdom Express tour now takes just 16 days to complete, travelling by private train on the Trans-Siberian railway between Moscow and Beijing. Encompassing China, Russia and Mongolia, this 15-night itinerary costs from £3,995 pp (two sharing) including return British Airways flights (Heathrow) and taxes, 15 nights’ accommodation, full board, a sightseeing itinerary and the services of tour directors, guides and local representatives.

A Voyages Jules Verne tour need not break the bank either. Its seven-night Taste of China itinerary, for example, takes advantage of the inevitable drop in visitor numbers following the Beijing Olympics and is competitively priced to attract first-time travellers, with prices from just £835 pp (two sharing) including return flights (Heathrow), taxes, transfers, six nights’ accommodation with breakfast, most meals, a sightseeing itinerary and the services of guides and local representatives.

A wealth of trips is available closer to home, with eclectic options available throughout Europe, including a seven-night Italy tour around Amalfi, Pompeii & Sorrento. This itinerary costs from £545 pp (two sharing) and includes a nostalgic trip on the Sorrento Express to Pompeii and a drive along the breathtaking Amalfi coast, one of the most spectacular coastal routes in the world. The price includes return flights (Gatwick), taxes, transfers, seven nights’ accommodation with breakfast and the services of local representatives.

Further afield, Voyages Jules Verne offers exotic, once-in-a-lifetime itineraries that hold unique appeal. Its Namibia & the Desert Express tour offers an exclusive series of journeys aboard the Desert Express through the dramatic landscapes of northern Namibia. This 14-night trip provides a more comfortable way of enjoying Namibia’s spectacular scenery and varied wildlife, and costs from £2,495 pp (two sharing). The price includes return flights (Gatwick), taxes, 12 nights’ accommodation with breakfast, some meals and the services of a driver/guide and local representatives.

Many of Voyages Jules Verne’s 2009/10 tours now include sightseeing itineraries that were formerly only available at additional cost, as an optional extra. Some tours also include special events and/or exclusive arrangements, providing memorable experiences that range from helicopter trips over Porto and aperitifs in Assisi to a private Luxor Temple reception and wine tasting in a Namibian castle.

All of Voyages Jules Verne’s arrangements are covered by a Price Guarantee, ensuring that the amount confirmed at the time of booking is the price clients will pay, and will not be subject to further airfare, fuel or currency surcharge increases. And, for further peace of mind and financial security, all of Voyages Jules Verne’s tours are fully bonded under the company’s ABTA and CAA/ATOL licences.
