From the Amazon to Machu Picchu
A cruise of exploration on the rivers of the Amazon combined with a tour of Peru's Inca heritage
Accommodation
The cruise vessel, the La Turquesa, has been constructed in a classic early 19th-century style and accommodates a maximum of just 45 passengers in, considering its location, conditions of extraordinary comfort. Each of the large beautifully appointed cabins comprise en suite facilities and air-conditioning. A one-sitting restaurant serves excellent meals in a convivial atmosphere whilst other facilities include a spacious observation deck, part-covered lounges and a bar. Custom-built excursion craft are utilised to explore the narrow river passages, flooded forests and backwater lakes and one’s experience of the area’s overwhelming bio-diversity is significantly enriched by enthusiastic teams of on-board naturalists. On occasion alternative cruise vessels, of a similar design and standard, may be used.
