Day 1 Fly from London Heathrow to Damascus* for three nights.
Day 2 Walking tour of the Old City. ‘Dining in the Old Town’.
Day 3 Walking tour including the National Museum, Street Called Straight, Church of Ananias, St. Paul’s Gate, Omayyad Mosque, Saladin’s Tomb and the Hamidiyeh souk.
Day 4 Travel into the desert to Palmyra (3 hrs). Visit the Valley of the Tombs, colonnaded street and temple of Baal. Overnight at the 5-star Dedeman or Semiramis or 4-star Zenobia. Enjoy a night walk through the ruins.
Day 5 Travel to Crac des Chevaliers (3 hrs) to visit the castle. Continue to Aleppo (3 hrs) for three nights.
Day 6 Walking tour of the old town includes the Citadel, souk and old quarter of Jdayde. ‘Dining in the Old Town’. Enjoy a night walk in the Citadel area.
Day 7 Morning visit to Aleppo National Museum.
Day 8 Visit St. Simeon, Hama with its waterwheels and restored Azem Palace, then Maaloula. Overnight at the 4-star Sheraton Sednaya near Damascus.
Day 9 Return flight from Damascus.

*During Apr there will be an extra night in Damascus at the beginning of the tour.
Extension – Lebanon
Spend two nights in the small town of Zahle at the historic 5-star Grand Hotel Kadri, overlooking its main river and spring. Facilities include lounge bar, restaurant, terrace, health club, outdoor pool and 105 air-conditioned rooms with private facilities, mini-bar and satellite TV. One dinner, breakfast daily and visits to Baalbeck, Beirut and Byblos are included.
