Historic Accommodation

Hitherto it has been difficult to secure adequate accommodation but recent conversions of old houses have opened the possibility of arranging for small groups of Voyages Jules Verne travellers to stay in the Old City of both Damascus and Aleppo. Facilities are limited but include a restaurant and air-conditioned rooms with private facilities, mini-bar and satellite TV. Hotels utilised include Dar Al-Yasmin and Al-Shahbandar Palace in Damascus and Jdayde Hotel, Beit Marrash Hotel, and Beit Salhieh in Aleppo. Our local representative has been involved in the restoration of the citadel of Aleppo and some Damascene houses.
