Day 1 Fly from London Heathrow to Damascus. Transfer to the 5-star Hotel Seidnaya Sheraton or the 4-star Hotel Carlton for three nights.
Day 2 A full-day tour of Damascus includes the Old City, National Museum, Omayyad Mosque, Saladin’s Tomb and the Church of Ananias at the end of a Street called Straight. Dinner with music and dance in the Old Town.
Day 3 Optional visit to Bosra and the basilica of St. George at Ezrae - £25.
Day 4 Drive to Palmyra for an extended visit including the Temple of Baal, Colonnaded Street, theatre, monumental arches and tombs. Continue to the 4-star Hotel Wadi near Homs for two nights.
Day 5 Drive to the coastal town of Latakia to visit the Phoenician city of Ugarit, which gave the world the first alphabet, and one of the most impressive of Syria’s castles: Qala’at Salah al-Din.
Day 6 Visit Crac des Chevaliers and the village of Maaloula on the road to Damascus for overnight at the 4-star Hotel Tichein.
Day 7 Return flight.
