Aqaba - Jordan's Window to the Red Sea

The Red Sea resort of Aqaba is well situated for excursions to Petra, Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea. Additional interest lies in Aqaba’s status both as a port and more importantly as a resort fast developing its leisure facilities and where in fact King Abdullah has his second home. Surrounded by rugged purplish mountains where, in the winter months, the temperature hovers steadily around 20°C with a water temperature of around 23°C, which makes it ideal for scuba diving and snorkelling.
