Since Petra was voted one of the ‘New7Wonders of the World’ in 2007, visitor numbers have significantly increased with a ‘peak’ expected in 2012 when Jordan celebrates the 200-year anniversary of the re-discovery of Petra by Burckhardt, sponsored by the British ‘African Association’. However, disturbances in 2011 in other countries have created a temporary lull in visitor enquiries, even though Jordan has remained stable. Together with hotel and airline partners, we have therefore been able to extend our extremely attractive winter tariff to include some of the best months to visit Jordan.
