In Brief
| Dead Sea - 1 night. Aqaba - 2 nights. Petra - 3 nights. Amman - 2 nights. |
Day 1 Fly from London Heathrow to Amman by scheduled air and transfer to the Dead Sea for an overnight stay.
Day 2 Morning at leisure to float on the Dead Sea. Visit Mount Nebo and Madaba. Continue to Aqaba (4 hrs) for two nights.
Day 3 Morning free. An optional afternoon excursion to Wadi Rum includes a 90-minute Bedouin jeep drive and dinner in a Bedouin tent with local musicians.
Day 4 Optional morning excursion on the ‘Yellow Submarine’, a ‘see-through’ semi-submersible viewing the Red Sea’s marine splendours and Coral Reserve. Travel to Petra for three nights.
Day 5 Morning guided visit of Petra (4 hrs of walking) and afternoon at leisure to explore independently (perhaps climb up to the Monastery, el-Deir). The Rock Camp Petra dinner.
Day 6 An optional morning excursion to Little Petra or re-visit Petra independently. A drink at the Nabataean Cave Bar has been arranged. Optional ‘Petra by candlelight’ to the Siq and Treasury (bookable locally).
Day 7 Visit Kerak Castle and continue to Amman for two nights. City tour includes the Citadel and Archaeological Museum.
Day 8 Visit ancient Jerash and the ‘Desert Castles’.
Day 9 Morning return flight.
