Day 1Fly from London Heathrow or Luton to Tel Aviv and transfer to the Metropolitan Hotel (4-star equivalent) for an overnight stay.
Day 2 Travel north along the coast to the ancient town of Caesarea and on to Megiddo to view its ruins. Later travel to Nazareth for a visit, including the Church of the Annunciation and the ‘Life in Nazareth’ event. Continue to the Sea of Galilee for two nights at the Caesar Tiberias Hotel (4-star equivalent).
Day 3 Full-day visit includes an ancient boat from the time of Jesus, Capernaum, Tabgha, Church of the Beatitudes near Tabgha, the archaeological site of Banias and Mount Bental and Yardenit.
Day 4 Travel to Bet She’an, the best-preserved Roman-Byzantine town in Israel, then continue via the Jordan Valley, passing Jericho, to Jerusalem. Visit Mount of Olives, Dominus Flevit Church, Garden of Gethsemane and Church of All Nations. Stay four nights at the Hotel Jerusalem Gold (3-star equivalent).
Day 5 Morning visit of the old city includes St. Stephen’s Gate, the ‘Wailing Wall’, Pool of Bethesda, Via Dolorosa and Church of the Holy Sepulchre. An optional afternoon excursion to Bethlehem to visit the Church of the Nativity with an included lunch (passport required) - £45.
Day 6 Travel through the Judean wilderness to the Dead Sea for a relaxing float and a visit to King Herod’s desert fortress of Masada.
Day 7 Visit Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust memorial, and the Israel Museum before continuing to Mount Zion to visit King David’s tomb, the Last Supper Room and Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu. A visit is included to the Garden Tomb.
Day 8 Return flight from Tel Aviv.
Extension – Tel Aviv
Extend your stay for four nights at the 5-star Carlton Hotel, overlooking the marina and only a five-minute walk from the public beach. Facilities include restaurants, bars, rooftop pool (closed Nov-Mar) with sundeck and health club. 280 rooms with private facilities, hairdryer, safe, mini-bar, tea/coffee making facilities, satellite TV and balcony.
