Day 1 Fly from London Heathrow to Delhi.
Day 2 Early morning transfer to the Ashok Country Resort. Sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi.
Day 3 Train journey to Amritsar. Evening visit to Wagah Border Point for the ‘Changing of the Guard’ ceremony. Overnight at Ranjit Savasa Hotel.
Day 4 Tour of Amritsar and the Golden Temple. Drive to McLeod Ganj (1700m) for a twonight stay at Surya Resort.
Day 5 Visit the Tibetan Monastery and museums.
Day 6 A long but scenic drive to Manali via the Shiva Temple at Baijnath. Two nights at the Holiday Inn.
Day 7 Visit to Naggar Castle and temples. Visit to Hadimba Devi and Manu Temples.
Day 8 Travel to Keylong crossing the Rohtang Pass at 3980 metres and viewing mountains, streams and waterfalls. Overnight Hotel Deykid or Tashi Delek.
Day 9 Continue to Sarchu visiting Jispa and crossing over Baralacha La at 4800 metres. Overnight at the Himalayan Saga tented camp.
Day 10 Spectacular scenery on the long journey to Leh via Lachang-La and Tanglang-La both over 5000 metres. Three nights at the Hotel Holiday Ladakh or similar.
Day 11 Half-day city tour visiting Shankar Gompa and Leh Palace.
Day 12 Full-day visits Shey Palace, Thiksey monastery, Hemis monastery and Stok Palace Museum. Explore Leh market this evening.
Day 13 Drive to Uletokpo visiting Basgo Palace, Liker and Alchi monasteries en route. Overnight in tented camp at Uley Ethnic Resort.
Day 14 Drive to Lamayuru monastery, one of the oldest in Ladakh, and an afternoon return to Leh for a two-night stay at the Hotel Holiday Ladakh.
Day 15 Morning excursion visits Khardungla, the world’s highest mountain (5,800m) pass accessible by motor vehicle.
Day 16 Drive to Leh airport for the flight to Delhi and transfer to the Ashok Country Resort.
Day 17 Early departure for London Heathrow arriving later the same day.
