Royal Cities of Rajasthan

Featuring some of the smaller royal residences of Rajasthan and an optional extension to Nepal

16 nights from £1505

The princely state of Rajasthan is a land of contrasts – the Thar desert, mountains, man-made and holy lakes, forests and jungles, impregnable fortresses and magnificent palaces, of warrior kings and princes, saints and mystics, Rajputs and Mughals. In common with other parts of India, Rajasthan has a wealth of royal residences and stately homes in the form of palaces (great and small), forts, hunting lodges or large estates and many of them have been converted into hotels.

More recently, some of the smaller sized royal residences and palaces in India have similarly been converted into hotels by the families who formerly resided in them. The location of several of these hotels has enabled us to compose a truly unique and rewarding itinerary combining visits to a number of lesser known historic sites with tours taking in the majority of Rajasthan’s most popular destinations and monuments.
