Day 1Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Delhi.
Day 2 On arrival transfer to Oberoi Maidens, a heritage hotel, for two nights. Orientation tour of Delhi including India Gate, Raj Ghat, Jama Mosque and a drive past the Red Fort.
Day 3 Visit Humayun’s tomb and Qutab Minar.
Day 4 Early morning Shatabdi Express train to Agra. Visit the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Optional visit to Itmad-Daula (the ‘Baby Taj’) and the Mughal garden. Overnight at Hotel Wyndham Grand.
Day 5 Travel to Ranthambore National Park (6 hrs) visiting Fatehpur Sikri en route. Two nights at the Ranthambore Regency Hotel.
Day 6 Enjoy an early morning and afternoon game drive.
Day 7 Optional early morning game drive. Drive to the pink city of Jaipur (4 hrs). Two nights at Hotel SMS, a heritage hotel. Optional evening Sound & Light show at the Amber Fort.
Day 8 Optional early morning balloon ride in the area of Amber Fort. Visit the Amber Fort, City Palace and Observatory, viewing the ‘Palace of the Winds’.
Day 9 Travel to Nimaj Palace (5 hrs), a heritage hotel and home of the Thakur noble family since 1482. Overnight and VJV special event.
Day 10 Drive to Jodhpur (6 hrs), the blue city, to visit the dramatic Mehrangarh Fort, standing 125 metres above the plain, Jaswant Thada, an imposing white marble cenotaph and Umaid Bhawan palace. Spend two nights at Rohet Garh, a heritage hotel near Jodhpur.
Day 11 Bishnoi village safari by jeep, village walk and school visit.
Day 12 Drive to Jaisalmer (5 hrs), for two nights at Taj Gateway Rawalkot.
Day 13 Visit the Fort, havellis and traditional Rajasthani houses. Excursion to the Sam Sand Dunes for sunset and a camel ride.
Day 14 Travel to Jalore (7 hrs) and overnight at Ravla Bhenswara, a heritage hotel. Evening village walk.
Day 15 Travel to the lake city of Udaipur (5 hrs). Two nights at Hotel Shikarbadi, a former hunting lodge of the royal family of Mewar.
Day 16 Tour of Udaipur, a city of palaces with a fine tradition of miniature paintings. Visit the City Palace museum. Afternoon boat ride.
Day 17 Fly to Mumbai for overnight at Hotel Trident Nariman Point. Afternoon tour including Marine Drive, the Gateway of India, Victoria Terminus, Dhobi Ghat, Mani Bhawan and Prince of Wales Museum.
Day 18 Fly to London arriving later the same day.
