The splendour of the Maharajas is a source of endless fascination and this arrangement allows guests to live like these princely rulers and travel like them too!
Railway journeys in India are always memorable but for those who seek opulence this luxury train recreates the grandeur of a bygone era. Introduced in 2004 the Deccan Odyssey operated south of Bombay (Mumbai) towards Goa, but since 2009, in its reincarnation as ‘The Indian Maharaja’, it has been travelling a new and exciting route between Bombay on the Indian Ocean and Delhi, the national capital. The journey includes Udaipur with its lakes and palaces, Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, Jaipur, the fabled pink city, the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Ellora, Ajanta and Fatehpur Sikri and of course, the magical Taj Majal itself.
