The Taj Mahal and Akbar’s abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri are visited along with stays in Jaipur and Nimaj, from where it is possible to visit Jodhpur. This ‘Blue City’, situated on the edge of the Thar Desert, is home to the magnificent Meharangarh Fort.Of added interest is a sojourn at the Raj Mahal Palace, a former residence of a Maharani of Jaipur and the palatial home of the Thakurs of Nimaj, feudal lords renowned for their valour in the struggle against the Mughals.
