Day 1 Fly direct from London Heathrow to Delhi.
Day 2 Morning arrival and transfer to the Royal Plaza Hotel for overnight. Afternoon orientation tour of Delhi includes India Gate, Raj Ghat, Jama Mosque and a drive past the Red Fort.
Day 3 Early morning flight to Nagpur and continue by jeep to Kanha National Park (6 hrs) for two nights at Kipling’s Camp.
Day 4 Morning and afternoon game drives in search of the Indian bison, dholes (Indian wild dog), the swamp deer and the elusive tiger.
Day 5 Drive across the central Indian plateau to Bandhavgarh (7 hrs) for three nights at the Nature Heritage Resort. Optional late afternoon safari.
Day 6 Morning and afternoon game drives. This is one of the smallest reserves in India and offers good opportunities to view tigers. Set in rugged terrain with hills and forested areas interspersed with savanna which support a rich variety of wildlife including tigers, leopards, bison, sloths, bears and a myriad of birdlife.
Day 7 Day at leisure for optional game drives.
Day 8 Drive to Khajuraho (7 hrs) for overnight at the Ramada Khajuraho.
Day 9 Visit the western group of temples. The most famous is the Kandariya Mahadev temple, 32 metres high with a fantastic range of sculptures including sensuous themes. Continue to Jhansi (5 hrs) to board Shatabdi Express to Agra for two nights at the Clarks Shiraz Hotel.
Day 10 Early morning visit to the Taj Mahal. Optional afternoon excursion to Agra Fort.
Day 11 Drive to Delhi (5 hrs) for overnight at the Royal Plaza Hotel.
Day 12 Fly to Heathrow arriving later the same day.
