Most people when travelling to a country for the first time want to take in all the major sights and yet also journey off the beaten track to experience something more authentic. For this reason, our unique mini-adventure to India enriches a classic first-time itinerary with experiences that transport its participants closer to the heart of the country. The railway stations for example, present a tableau as rich as a bazaar, with all classes and castes present on its thronging platforms - ‘Passage to India’ readily springs to mind as one waits to travel (Chair Class). Discover a magnificent stepwell in a small village and experience a stay at the historic Nimaj Palace, the ancestral home of a Thakur family for centuries and standing in faded glory amidst the narrow streets of a rural village.

The magnificent Mehrangarh Fort has been owned by Jodhpur’s Maharajas for more than five centuries, thus retaining Rajasthan’s finest collection of furnishings and decorations. Discover the deserted city of the Mughal Emperor Akbar at Fatephur Sikri and his red sandstone and marble mausoleum at Sikandra, a forerunner to the Taj Mahal.

The ‘Golden Triangle’ is formed by Jaipur, Agra and Delhi, where highlights include the palace at Amber, Jaipur’s amazing astronomical Observatory and the icon of the entire sub-continent, the magical Taj Mahal.
