In brief:

Day 1 Fly from London Heathrow direct to Bangalore.
Day 2 Arrive early morning in the ‘Garden City’. Transfer to the Hotel Chancery. Report for the Golden Chariot at The Leela Palace Hotel followed by lunch. Afternoon sightseeing of Bangalore visiting Tipu’s Palace, Bull Temple and Lal bagh, before a traditional welcome onboard the Golden Chariot.
Day 3 Continue to Kabini Wildlife Reserve, arriving for lunch. Afternoon safari by jeep and boat. Overnight at Kabini Jungle Lodge.
Day 4 Back onboard the train departs for Mysore. Afternoon sightseeing of Mysore Palace and Srirangpatnam, Tipu Sultan’s mosque. Evening cultural show at Brindavan Gardens and dinner at Hotel KRS before returning to the train.
Day 5 Arrive in Hassan for morning visit to Shravanabelagola. The statue of Lord Gomateswara is 58ft tall, visible at a distance of 30 kms and was voted one of the seven wonders of India. Afternoon sightseeing of temple complexes at Belur and Halebid.
Day 6 Overnight travel to Hospet and drive to Hampi for a full-day visit to Virupaksha Temple, the Royal Enclosure, Queen’s Bath, Elephant Stables, Hazara Rama Temple, the illuminated Vittala Temple and local crafts bazaar.
Day 7 This morning visit the Badami Caves and Pattadakal before returning to the Golden Chariot to enjoy the facilities on board.
Day 8 Journey’s end is Vasco Da Gama Railway station, Goa. Visit the famous churches of old Goa, a Portuguese house and spice plantation. Overnight at Kenilworth Beach Resort.
Day 9 Depart for the return flight to London Heathrow via Mumbai arriving later the same day.
Extension
3-night extension at the 5-star Kenilworth Beach Resort, situated on the beach with 14 acres of grounds. There are restaurants, a café, a lounge bar, a sunken pool bar, 2 swimming pools, spa and gym. All 107 air-conditioned rooms have a balcony and are sea facing.
