An extended Mekong cruise through Vietnam and Cambodia on the newly inaugurated RV Indochine, from the River Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City to the great Tonle Sap Lake and Angkor Wat

 
 

Downstream

Day 1
Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Siem Reap via Bangkok.

Day 2 Transfer to the 3-star Lotus Angkor Hotel for two nights.

Day 3 Visit the sites and fabled temples of Angkor.

Day 4 Embark on the RV Indochine at Tonle Sap Pier, crossing the lake to Kampong Luong.

Day 5 A local boat ride before continuing to Kampong Tralach, visiting fishing village Kampong Chhang en route.

Day 6 Visit Wat Kampong Leu pagoda in Kampong Tralach. Reach Phnom Penh.

Day 7
Sightseeing includes the Royal Palace and National Museum. Evening Cambodian folklore music and dance performance on board.

Day 8
Visiting Kampong Cham and Phnom Thmei’s pagodas.

Day 9
Arrival at floating village Koh Dek Chau to cross the Cambodia/Vietnam border. Continue to border city of Chau Doc.

Day 10
Tour Chau Doc then Sa Dec, known for its variety of exotic plant and flower species.

Day 11
Visit ancient trading point Vinh Long and its floating market, then the trading city My Tho. Depart for Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 12
Visit Cu Chi Tunnels, Notre Dame Cathedral, Presidential Palace and National Museum.

Day 13
Disembark and visit the Chinese market and Binh Quoy Village for lunch. Overnight at the 4-star Equatorial Hotel.

Day 14
Return overnight flight from Ho Chi Minh City via Bangkok.

Day 15 Arrive Heathrow in the morning.

Extension

Stay on for a further three nights at the centrallylocated 5-star Amari Watergate in Bangkok, with a choice of restaurants, pool and 500 rooms with private facilities, air-conditioning, safe, mini-bar, hairdryer and satellite TV.
