Highlights of China
Visiting the Forbidden City and Summer Palace in Beijing, the Great Wall, the Terracotta Army at Xian, the water gardens of Suzhou, Shanghai and Nanjing
Day 1 Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Beijing.
Day 2
Transfer to the 3-star Dong Fang Hotel for two nights.
Day 3
A full day excursion to the Great Wall at Juyongguan and Summer Palace. Peking Duck dinner.
Day 4
Visit the Forbidden City and Tian An Men Square. Fly to Xianand visit the City Wall. Two nights at the 4-star Garden Hotel.
Day 5
Visit the Terracotta Warriors, Provincial History Museum and Small Wild Goose Pagoda. Optional evening Tang Dynasty performance (booked locally).
Day 6
Morning flight to Shanghai for a two-night stay at the
New Asia Hotel.
Visit the Yu Yuan Garden in the old Chinese quarter and the Bund.
Day 7
A morning visit to the Jade Buddha temple. Afternoon free.
Day 8
Travel to Suzhou by road, to visit the Lingering Garden,
Garden of Master of Fishing Nets, Panmen Gate and a silk reeling factory. Continue by road to Nanjing for an overnight stay at the 5-star Jinling Hotel.
Day 9
Morning visit to the Dr. Sun Yat Sen’s Mausoleum and the Yangtse River Bridge. Late afternoon flight to Beijing and overnight at the Dong Fang Hotel.
Day 10
Return flight to London which reaches Heathrow later the same day.
