The Train
Specially constructed for this extreme route and suitable thus for the more adventurous traveller, this is not a luxury train. Meeting the requirements of safety, reliance, comfort and environmental protection; the normal running in a severely cold and oxygen deficient environment is ensured, with each of the airproof carriages having a generator for the supply of oxygen.
As accommodation is limited and in high demand, the overnight journey to Lhasa will be in 4-berth compartments, sharing with other VJV travellers, with a toilet and washroom at the end of each carriage. Simple Chinese food is served on board. Private journey arrangements will be in a private 4-berth compartment.
