Day 1 Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Beijing.
Day 2 Transfer to the 3-star Dong Fang Hotel for three nights. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 3 Full-day tour to the Forbidden City, Tian An Men Square and Summer Palace. Lunch and dinner included. Peking Opera performance.
Day 4 Visit to the Temple of Heaven and to the Great Wall at Mutianyu with lunch en route. Peking Duck dinner.
Day 5 Fly to Hong Kong. Transfer to 4-star City Garden Hotel for three nights.
Day 6 An included guided tour of Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, including the Peak funicular, a sampan ride, a crossing by star ferry and tram ride.
Day 7 Day at leisure. Optional excursions available to the New territories, Land Between or Macau (bookable locally).
Day 8 Late evening overnight flight from Hong Kong to London Heathrow.

Extension - The Terracotta Warriors
Includes one lunch and two dinners and return flight with Air China. From November 2009 onwards, an extra night in Beijing is included.
Day 8 Fly from Hong Kong to Xian via Beijing. Visit the City Wall and stay two nights at the 4-star New World Hotel.
Day 9 Visit the Terracotta Warriors, Provincial Museum and Small Wild Goose Pagoda. Optional Tang Dynasty show (Mar-Nov, bookable locally).
Day 10 Return flight via Beijing, reaching London Heathrow later the same day.
