Spain’s southern region is distinguished by its centuries-old traditions and fervent cultural celebrations, including flamenco, bullfighting and La Feria del Caballo in Jerez, encapsulating the essence of Spain as a vibrant, passionate nation. Cádiz sits on a rocky promontory surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and is one of Spain’s oldest towns, though the architecture is largely Baroque. This port was the base for the Armada and the combined Spanish French fleet that was destroyed at Trafalgar close by.
In addition to the Iberian coastline, this cruise takes in the islands of Menorca and Corsica, the British Crown Colony of Gibraltar and Algeria in North Africa.
On-board Lecture
This sailing features a talk on ‘Spanish Language & Food’ presented by Nathan Manzaneque & Jonathan Meades.
