Venice is a highlight of any visit to Italy but the area surrounding La Serenissima has its own unique charm. Prosperity, often based on trade with the East, has left a fascinating cultural heritage of ornate churches, imposing civic buildings and fine medieval cities, many of which were once part of the Venetian Republic. Following on from the success of our winter programme on the MS Michelangelo, this fivenight summer cruise from Venice to the River Po includes visits to Ferrara, Verona and Chioggia, a typical Adriatic port built by the Romans. Additionally the vessel is moored in Venice close to St Mark’s Square for three nights during which time there will be an opportunities to also visit Padua, cruise around the lagoon islands of Murano and Burano, visit the Doge’s Palace and St. Mark’s Square plus time at leisure for independent exploration.
