Grand Hotel Cadenabbia

This fully refurbished 4-star hotel is the oldest on Lake Como. All 195 air-conditioned rooms have private facilities, mini-bar, hairdryer, safe and satellite TV. There is a small outdoor pool for occasional use at the rear of the hotel, bar, a panoramic restaurant with fine views and lounge. Located in the village of Cadenabbia, the hotel stands on the western shores of the lake with the gardens of Villa Carlotta to the rear and views of Bellagio to the front, linked to the neighbouring communities by frequent ferry services and private transport. Please note, there is a road between the hotel and the lake, although all rooms have the benefit of sound proofing.

Lake Como remains the most elegant of the Italian lakes. Its golden age came in the 19th century when its romantic scenery and equitable climate attracted the likes of Queen Victoria, Flaubert, Tennyson and Liszt but centuries earlier it was favoured by Julius Caesar and both Pliny’s were born here. Today George Clooney and Donatella Versace are amongst the celebrities who own secluded villas here, whilst the lakeside towns with their pastel houses of pink and yellow, set against a backdrop of the southern Alps make the area a highly sought after film location.

Enjoy a late afternoon cruise on the lake by private launch. Sail past Varenna, Bellagio, Lenno and Balbianello before returning to the Grand Hotel Cadenabbia for an aperitif on the lakeside terrace (weather permitting) May-Oct only.
