Jules Verne & the Blue Pearl
Cruising the Adriatic from Venice to Rovinj, Zadar, Sibenik, Hvar, Split and Pula
7 nights from £1797
Journey south on the Adriatic, cruising through the spectacular islands, islets and the reefs of Dalmatia. This unique natural beauty is matched by the masterful architecture of magnificent cities from Venice to Split, home to Diocletian’s palace. Pula is renowned for its Roman, Byzantine and Venetian heritage and its Roman amphitheatre is one of the six largest existing today. The medieval town of Sibenik prospered under the Venetians and flourished as a cultural centre. Known as the ‘Blue Pearl’ and dominated by its cathedral, Rovinj was co-incidentally chosen by Jules Verne, the father of science fiction writing, as a setting for some chapters of his novel ‘Mathias Sandorf’.
