Lyon to Lyon
Day 1 Fly from London Heathrow to Lyon or travel by Eurostar-TGV at a supplement. Embark at Lyon.
Day 2 Morning tour of Lyon. Afternoon sailing to Mâcon.
Day 3 Tour to the Abbey at Cluny. Afternoon sailing to Vienne.
Day 4 Morning walking tour of Vienne. Cruise southwards.
Day 5 Arrive Avignon for a morning tour on foot including the Papal Palace. Cruise to Arles. Afternoon tour of the Camargue nature reserve.
Day 6 Morning walking tour of Arles. Cruise northwards.
Day 7 Walking tour of Viviers. Cruise to Tain l’Hermitage for an optional Côtes du Rhône wine-tasting (bookable locally).
Day 8 Cruise to Lyon and disembark for the return journey.
Extension – Beaujolais
Two nights to relax at the 4-star Le Château de Pizay in the Beaujolais wine region, one hour’s drive from Lyon. Surrounded by 62 acres of vines this hotel has an 18th-century French style garden, formal restaurant, pool, spa and tennis. Rooms allocated to VJV clients are in the chateau and have air-conditioning, private facilities, mini-bar and satellite TV.

Cabins are available from 5pm on arrival and until 9am on departure (before/after this, luggage storage on board and access to the public lounge).
