In Brief

Kyrenia - 4 nights. Paphos - 4 nights.

Itinerary 1 (until Apr 12 2010)

Day 1 Fly London Heathrow to Larnaca and transfer to Kyrenia for four nights at the 3-star Onar Village Hotel.

Day 2 Full-day tour visiting the dramatically sited St. Hilarion Castle, romantic Bellapais Abbey and Kyrenia Castle. Lunch at the picturesque harbour.

Day 3 Full-day tour of ancient Salamis and Famagusta, visiting St. Nicholas’ Cathedral, Othello’s Tower and the old city walls. Lunch by the beach and return via the monastery of St. Barnabas.

Day 4 Half-day tour to the north part of Nicosia, visiting St. Sophia cathedral, the covered bazaar, a caravanserai and an Ottoman mansion. Dinner at the harbour.

Day 5 Cross the border to South Nicosia for a visit including the Archaeological Museum, St. John’s Cathedral, Archbishop’s Palace and Byzantine Museum. Continue to Paphos for four nights at the 4-star Aqua Mare Hotel.

Day 6 Full-day excursion to ancient Curium with its Greek theatre, early Christian basilica and Sanctuary. View Aphrodite’s Rock and in Paphos visit the harbour, catacombs, St. Paul’s Pillar and the marvellous mosaics of the House of Dionysus.

Day 7 Day at leisure.

Day 8 Full-day visit to the Troödos Mountains; picturesque villages, one of the UNESCO protected Byzantine churches, Kykkos Monastery and the Tomb of Archbishop Makarios.

Day 9 Return flight from Paphos to London Gatwick (or from Larnaca to Heathrow at a supplement).
