In response to very positive hotel reviews by our customers on questionnaires and on our ‘vjvlounge.com’ website, we are pleased to offer new winter dates.

The Tirol is one of the world’s premier areas for winter holidays, in terms of facilities, hotels and stupendous mountain scenery. Normally this means high winter prices but the introduction of British Airways flights to Innsbruck and relative quietness of periods outside school holidays, has created an opportunity for a special midweek tariff. Stay in the traditional Tirolean village of Obsteig during the Advent season or in January when the snow is at its most profuse or in February and March when the weather is sunnier.

The village lies on a high Alpine plateau, surrounded by mountains, above the Inn Valley and less than one hour’s drive from Innsbruck. The affluence of Tirol from its silver and copper mines led Habsburg Emperor Maximilian I (c.1490) to designate Innsbruck as imperial capital. The Hofkirche (Court Church) contains his tomb, one of finest works of German renaissance sculpture and the Hofburg (Imperial Palace) was remodelled in baroque and rococo style by Empress Maria Theresa. Bergisel hill, site of the Olympic ski-jump, is where the Tiroleans defeated Napoleon.
