Day 1 Fly from London Heathrow or your local airport via Amsterdam to Kilimanjaro. Transfer to Arusha for overnight at the 4-star Hotel Arusha.
Day 2 Drive to Lake Manyara (3 hrs) for two nights at the 4-star Serena Safari Lodge. Afternoon game drive in Lake Manyara National Park.
Day 3 Morning walking safari along the Rift Valley escarpment overlooking the lake. Afternoon game drive.
Day 4 Visit the pre-historic site of the Olduvai Gorge and its museum. Continue to the Serengeti National Park (6 hrs) for two nights at the 4-star Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge. Afternoon game drive.
Day 5 Optional early morning hot air balloon ride. Approx.
cost £300 - bookable locally. Full day’s game viewing on the
Serengeti plains.
Day 6 Depart for Ngorongoro Crater rim (4 hrs), visiting
a Masai village en route, for two nights at the 4-star Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge. Afternoon optional crater
rim walk (bookable locally).
Day 7 Morning crater safari.
Day 8 Depart for Kilimanjaro (4 hrs) and transfer to the
airport for the return flight, via Amsterdam.
Day 9Arrive Heathrow or your local airport in the morning.
Extension – Zanzibar
A relaxing stay on the most famous of the Spice Islands at
Unguja Beach Lodge on the island's southern tip on the shores
of the Indian Ocean. This small hotel has 10 private bungalows
with sea view, a swimming pool, bar and restaurant. Fly
direct from Kilimanjaro to Zanzibar on the afternoon of
Day 8, then return via Nairobi. Includes half board, transfers
and an excursion to Stone
Town including lunch.
