Day 1 Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Cape Town.
Day 2 Transfer to chosen hotel for seven nights.
Day 3 Visit Table Mountain, weather permitting (excludes cableway ticket), Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Bo-Kaap, the Castle of Good Hope and take a walk through Company Gardens to the South Africa Museum. Tour ends with afternoon tea at Mount Nelson Hotel.
Day 4 A tour of the Cape Peninsula includes Hout Bay, Cape Point, the Good Hope Nature Reserve and Boulders Beach. Return via Simon’s Town for a walking tour, harbour cruise (weather permitting) and the SA Navy Museum.
Day 5 Optional visit to !Khwa ttu – the Place of the San to learn the heritage of the San Bushmen, including a nature trail and lunch - £145. Evening visit to the Gold Museum for an African drumming lesson and dinner.
Day 6 Optional Winelands tour with a top wine expert and wine-tastings - £145.
Day 7 ‘No Easy Road to Freedom’: visit the District Six Museum and Cape townships with guides from the local community. Afternoon tour to Robben Island, where Mandela was in prison, ending at Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.
Day 8 Optional ‘Aquila Safari’: travel to a game reserve to view giraffe, lion, zebra and rhino - £150.
Day 9 Overnight flight to London Heathrow.
Day 10 Arrive in the early morning.
Extension – Stellenbosch
Three nights at South Africa’s oldest hotel, the 4-star D’Ouwe Werf Hotel, established in 1802 and situated in the historic centre of Stellenbosch, in the heart of the wine region. Restaurant, lounge, pool and 38 air-conditioned rooms with private facilities, tea/coffee making facilities, safe, hairdryer and satellite TV. A visit to Franschhoek is included en route.

Four nights at the 5-star Victoria Falls Hotel, one of the world’s grand hotels, situated in the Victoria Falls National Park, including an excursion to Victoria Falls and a sunset cruise.
