The Rovos Rail train accommodates just 72 passengers with rolling stock comprising 20 coaches of 1930’s vintage. Travel is normally at just 40 mph, allowing enjoyment of the spectacular scenery from the open observation car. Built to high standards including an observation lounge, club lounge and restaurant car all recreated to achieve an atmosphere of elegance and grandeur. There are just three spacious air-conditioned suites in the deluxe category sleeping car furnished in Edwardian style with double or twin beds, a lounge area and en suite shower and WC. The smaller ‘Pullman compartment’ category comprises five compartments per sleeping car with the same facilities as the deluxe suites but having upper and lower berths or double beds. All compartments are equipped to the highest standards with fine bed linen, bath robes, amenity sets, complimentary mini bar and personal safe. Two first class chefs ensure that meals are of a superb standard and all drinks are included.
